The Groundsmen offers a comprehensive range of lawn and landscape applications. For general turf care, we follow a 6-step program based on Iowa State University’s guidelines, ensuring optimal lawn health and appearance while minimizing environmental impact.

In addition to turf management, we provide a variety of specialized services, including (but not limited to):

Weed Control & Pesticide Applications

We use a balanced approach to lawn care, combining mechanical, cultural, and chemical methods for effective, long-term results:

Mechanical: While we don’t offer mowing, we recommend maintaining the correct mowing height for your turf to help reduce weed growth.

Cultural: Treatments are timed based on current and upcoming weather conditions to support healthy, resilient turf.

Chemical: When needed, we apply targeted herbicides and insecticides to control weeds and pests quickly and safely.

These strategies are built into our 6-Step Program, which includes pre-emergents and spot treatments to stop weed spread and manage pests before they become a problem.

Parking Lots & Hard Surface - Weed Control

Weeds growing in pavement cracks are more than just an eyesore, they can cause serious structural damage over time. Left untreated, they contribute to the breakdown of concrete and asphalt, leaving parking lots and sidewalks looking neglected and eventually becoming unsafe or unusable.

Our treatment process combines pre-emergent and non-selective herbicides to eliminate existing weeds and prevent future growth. For optimal results, we recommend two applications during the growing season.

To ensure precise application and minimize overspray, we offer the option to include a temporary marking dye. While optional, the dye is highly recommended for sustainability and accuracy. It breaks down naturally with UV exposure and rainfall, leaving no lasting residue.
